Welcome to the beautiful 12th century Stag Inn

We are reputedly the oldest pub in Devon and one of the few surviving ‘tunnel inns’, so called because the entrance to the bar is via a cobbled tunnel passage into which the drovers could heard their stock.

‘Tom Kings Bar’ hosts flag floors and a roaring log fire during the winter months.

We take great pride in providing a warm friendly atmosphere with good real ales and home made food at very reasonable prices. Alongside our main menu, we have a specials board which changes regularly and our delicious home made dessert board.

Our winter opening hours are:

Monday- Closed  Open Monday 16th February  (half term holiday)

 Thursday 12-3 and 5.30-11 pm (Food 12-3 & 6-9)

Friday and Saturday 12pm -12am

Sunday 12-6 (Food 12-3)

Tuesday Nights are Steak Night

2 rump steaks and a bottle of house wine only £21.95

Two sirloin steaks and a bottle of house wine only £26.95

Sunday Roast

Roast beef and pork served with mashed and roast potatoes, stuffing, yorkshire puddings, fresh veg and 2 day stewed ‘real’ gravy. Come join us- booking recommended.

We are now serving our full menu and all the specials on a Sunday.
